For referring clinicians

Referrals and records coordination

Before sending an order, call the Brea team to discuss the examination you are requesting.

What to have ready when you call

  • The examination and body region, including side where relevant
  • The clinical question the imaging should answer
  • Relevant prior imaging and whether a comparison is needed
  • The ordering clinician and who should receive the report and images
  • Preferred timing and a contact for follow-up

Please do not send orders, images or patient records through general email or website contact. Ask for the approved route for orders and records.

Reports and follow-up

Give the names and contact details of every clinician who should receive the report and images. Ask about expected report timing, and decide which clinician will discuss the findings with the patient.

Choosing between CT and thermography

CT uses X-rays to produce cross-sectional anatomical images for a defined clinical question. Heart and lung imaging require specific protocols and eligibility, so check that a particular study is available before ordering it.

Thermography records skin-surface temperature patterns and is used alongside other clinical information. It does not replace indicated anatomical imaging, mammography or other recommended screening.

MRI is not among the services described on this site.

Injury, legal and third-party payment cases

If imaging relates to an injury claim, a legal matter or third-party payment, discuss the documentation, authorization and payment terms with the clinic before scheduling.
